New to Horses - Neigh-h-h-h!

Are you a new rider trying to learn about horses and especially about
learning to ride dressage? If you are just getting started and you are
starving for more information, check out these pages to set you on
track. Instead of learning a lot of things the hard way through
experience and by digging for information on the web, you can find
great information to get you started all right here!

This site covers the basics for horses such as safety and horse care,
finding barns and lessons, equipment you need, and, when you are
ready, getting to the horse shows! Topics also include leasing and
owning horses and the many costs involved. Some of the information is
locally-based in the Bay Area, CA, but other resources apply to riding
wherever you are. If you have more questions that are not answered in
these pages, please ask by sending an email.

You can also read the latest postings on the New to Horses Blog and
the New to Horses Community Forum. On the Forum, you can post
questions to the group and tell everyone a bit about yourself.

The New to Horses web site focuses on the English style of riding, and
sometimes specifically on dressage. Some of the information applies to
all types of riding such as trail riding, jumping, eventing,
equitation, and Western. Many references to the Western style of
riding are left out.
